Lightwater Cove

A complete visual package that put a secluded Salt Spring Island retreat on the map.

Challenge

Lightwater Cove is a secluded luxury retreat on Salt Spring Island — the kind of place that sells itself the moment you experience it. The challenge was giving prospective guests that experience before they arrived. The property had no professional visual media, making it nearly invisible in a competitive market of high-end short-term rentals where first impressions are everything.

Approach

I delivered a complete visual package built to work across every channel at once. Aerial drone footage established the setting: the cove, the old-growth forest, the water at golden hour. A full photo shoot covered every space and season of light — interiors, exteriors, and the fine details that make a place feel worth the rate.

A marketing video wove the property's sense of calm and seclusion into a single piece guests could share. And a 360° virtual tour let anyone walk through every room from anywhere in the world — a tool that's become essential for high-consideration bookings. Everything was shot and edited to feel like a cohesive set, not a collection of assets.

Outcome

The full package launched alongside a new Lightwater Cove website in 2023. Direct bookings increased, and the virtual tour became a key conversion tool for guests comparing properties. The photo and video assets continue to anchor their social media presence and listing pages.

Knight Inlet Lodge

Complete visual storytelling for one of Canada's most remote wilderness destinations.

Challenge

Knight Inlet Lodge sits at the end of a floatplane ride from Campbell River — a remote coastal retreat where guests come to watch grizzly bears fish for salmon in the wild. With a premium price point and a largely international clientele of high-expectation travellers, the lodge was competing against polished destination properties worldwide without the professional visual content to match. What they delivered in person was extraordinary. What prospective guests could see beforehand wasn't.

Approach

The only way in is by floatplane, and I made that trip twice — shooting across two separate seasons to build a complete visual library. The first visit delivered prime grizzly encounters during salmon run; the second broadened the range with different conditions, light, and angles.

The full package covered cinematic video and aerial drone footage, a 360° virtual tour of the lodge and its wilderness setting, a full photo library, and short-form reels and social cuts built for digital reach. Everything was crafted to meet the expectations of international travellers who've never been to coastal BC but are comparing Knight Inlet Lodge against the best wilderness experiences in the world.

Outcome

The work launched across the lodge's website and marketing channels, driving measurable gains in bookings, website traffic, and social engagement. For a remote property selling a premium experience to a global audience, the visual package gave Knight Inlet Lodge the presence it needed — making the destination feel real and worth the journey before guests ever step off the floatplane.

Jason Drake

Wonderfully creative and the images, videos and 360 views created are the star of the Knight Inlet Lodge webpage and marketing materials. Ben really can deliver amazing results and works within the timeline and details needed. You won't be disappointed when working with 360° Immersion!

Spirit of the West Adventures

Immersive visual media for a kayaking and wilderness lodge operator on BC's remote coast.

Challenge

Spirit of the West Adventures runs multi-day sea kayaking expeditions and lodge-based wilderness experiences along one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in British Columbia. The challenge was capturing something that is, by nature, kinetic and immersive — the feeling of paddling through a remote archipelago, watching orcas surface at eye level, camping on uninhabited islands — and translating that into visual content compelling enough to convert an audience that has never been there.

Approach

The work required being in the environment: on the water, in the kayaks, at the lodges at the right light. Aerial drone footage gave the landscape scale; close, handheld work captured the human experience of being out there. The full package spanned cinematic video, a 360° virtual tour of the lodge facilities, drone and on-water photography, and social-ready short-form content built for the channels their audience actually uses.

Outcome

The resulting content gave Spirit of the West a visual presence that matches the quality of the experience they offer — helping prospective guests understand not just where they're going, but what it actually feels like to be there.

Basecamp Resorts

Multi-property visual campaign for a boutique mountain resort brand in the Canadian Rockies.

Challenge

Basecamp Resorts operates a collection of boutique mountain properties designed for travellers who want more than a hotel room — people who come for the mountains and expect an experience that matches. With multiple properties across the Rockies and a strong identity rooted in adventure and design, the challenge was creating visual content that could carry that identity across channels and convert browsers into guests.

Approach

The scope covered video production, aerial drone work, photography, and a 360° virtual tour built to let prospective guests explore the properties from anywhere. On the ground and in the air, the work was designed to capture both the architectural character of the spaces and the mountain environment that makes them worth the trip — the kind of content that earns a booking before anyone picks up a phone.

Outcome

The resulting visual library gave Basecamp a consistent, high-quality presence across their website and marketing channels — reinforcing the brand's position as a premium, experience-first mountain destination in one of Canada's most sought-after travel regions.

Caverhill Fishing Lodge

Cinematic video and virtual tour production for a remote British Columbia fishing retreat.

Challenge

Caverhill Fishing Lodge is the kind of place serious anglers travel from around the world to reach — remote, pristine, and defined by the quality of the fishing and the wilderness surrounding it. With a discerning international clientele who make high-consideration bookings based on what they can see and feel before they go, the lodge needed visual content that could communicate its character and justify the commitment of travelling somewhere this far off the beaten path.

Approach

Getting there is the first step; capturing it right is the second. The work spanned cinematic video production, drone aerials of the surrounding landscape and waterways, a 360° virtual tour of the lodge facilities, and a full photography library. The goal was to put a potential guest inside the experience — to make them feel the remoteness, the calm, and the quality before they ever cast a line.

Outcome

The completed package gave Caverhill a visual presence that matches the calibre of the lodge itself — anchoring their website and marketing with content that speaks directly to the guests they want to attract.

Marlene Loney

Ben created the perfect video for a header on our website. It not only captured the facilities but also the magic and atmosphere. He was very professional and his crew was delightful. Highly recommended.

Mistaya Lodge

Remote backcountry lodge storytelling deep in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Challenge

Mistaya Lodge sits in the heart of the Canadian Rockies — accessible only by helicopter, nested in a valley surrounded by glaciers and alpine terrain that most people never reach. The guests who book it are experienced backcountry travellers looking for a specific kind of wilderness immersion. The challenge was visual content that could communicate the scale, the isolation, and the particular quality of light and landscape in a place this far from the road.

Approach

Capturing a place like Mistaya means working on its schedule: chasing the light when it comes, staying out at 2 am for the Milky Way, being back up for sunrise. The work covered cinematic video, aerial drone photography of the lodge and surrounding valley, a 360° virtual tour, and a full photo library spanning seasons and conditions. The goal was to give prospective guests a true sense of the WildCat Valley — not just the lodge, but what it feels like to be there.

Outcome

The completed visual package gave Mistaya Lodge content that can hold its own against any backcountry destination in the world — work that reflects the extraordinary nature of the place and the dedication it takes to reach it.

Cindy Galligan

Ben did a great job of capturing Mistaya Lodge and the WildCat Valley. I saw him once at twilight shooting a sunset, again at 2 am shooting the Milky Way, and a few hours later shooting the sunrise. Who does that? We loved working with Ben, and we love our virtual tour.

Blackstone Mountain Lodge

Resort visual content for a mountain lodge retreat near Canmore in the Canadian Rockies.

Challenge

Blackstone Mountain Lodge sits in the mountain town of Canmore — a gateway to Banff National Park and one of Canada's most competitive hospitality markets. With world-class national park experiences on the doorstep and a strong local accommodation scene, the lodge needed visual content that could cut through and communicate its distinct character and setting.

Approach

The full package covered cinematic video and aerial drone work capturing both the lodge and its mountain surroundings, a 360° virtual tour to let guests explore the property before booking, and a photography library covering interiors, exteriors, and the landscape that makes the location. The work was designed to feel as impressive as the peaks visible from every window.

Outcome

The completed media package gave Blackstone Mountain Lodge a visual identity strong enough to compete in one of Canada's most densely photographed regions — content that earns attention and converts it into bookings.

God's Pocket Resort

Visual storytelling for a remote dive and wilderness resort on BC's northern coast.

Challenge

God's Pocket Resort sits at the edge of one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world — a remote outpost on BC's northern coast known for world-class scuba diving and encounters with marine life that simply don't exist in more accessible places. Getting guests to commit to a trip this remote means giving them a clear, compelling picture of what's waiting for them. The existing visual content wasn't doing that.

Approach

The work was built around the two things that define God's Pocket: the above-water experience and the world below it. Aerial drone footage captured the dramatic coastal geography — the channels, the forest, the working dock. Cinematic video conveyed the rhythm of life at the resort: the boats, the guests, the meals, the light. A 360° virtual tour gave anyone with a browser the ability to explore the facilities before committing to the journey. Together, the content tells a complete story of a place that rewards people willing to make the trip.

Outcome

The resulting package gave God's Pocket Resort the visual tools to reach its audience — serious divers and wilderness travellers looking for an experience that genuinely can't be replicated elsewhere — and to make the case for the journey before they ever leave home.

Purcell Mountain Lodge

A heli-access luxury backcountry lodge for skiing and hiking in the Purcell Mountains.

Challenge

Purcell Mountain Lodge is only reachable by helicopter — an 'island in the sky' perched above the treeline in one of BC's most dramatic mountain ranges. It attracts serious skiers and hikers willing to make the commitment, but competing for that audience means the visual content has to do the heavy lifting of justifying the journey. The lodge's existing media wasn't communicating the elevation, the scale, or the quality of the experience waiting at the top.

Approach

The work centred on capturing what makes Purcell singular: the terrain, the isolation, and the calibre of the lodge itself. Aerial drone footage established the breathtaking alpine setting — the snowfields, the peaks, the lodge sitting alone above the clouds. Cinematic video followed guests through the experience: the helicopter approach, the skiing and hiking, the warmth of the lodge after a day in the mountains. A 360° virtual tour gave anyone with a browser the ability to walk through the space, and a full photo library covered every aspect of the property and surroundings across conditions and light.

Outcome

The completed package gave Purcell Mountain Lodge eye-catching, high-quality marketing content that communicates the elevated, unique experience the lodge delivers — helping it stand out in a competitive backcountry market and convert the right travellers into guests.

Jackie Mah

Outstanding to work with! Ben captured eye-catching, high-quality online marketing content for our 'island in the sky' backcountry lodge. It helps us stand out by showing the unique and elevated experience that our guests enjoy.
